Approximately 11,000 Americans experience a spinal cord injury each year. Students will receive an excellent overview including a discussion on signs, symptoms, and causes. Readers will gain an increased awareness of this injury through discussions on complications, treatments, and preventative measures. Recommended methods of assisting someone suspected of a spinal cord injury are also presented.
Course Objectives:
1. List and describe the signs and symptoms of spinal cord injury.
2. Recognize and explain the causes and mechanisms of spinal cord injury.
3. Identify and describe methods of treatment for someone with a suspected spinal cord injury.Sections:
